Responsibilities

This is one of the most complicated Water Purification Projects currently underway and this Advanced Water Treatment Facility (AWTF) is just starting. There is opportunity for you to take part in the refining of the project and follow through the deliveries, building, installation and start-up of this fascinating facility.

 

The project consists of a large amount of underground piping and electrical, concrete structures, metal buildings, chemical farms. Major equipment includes Microfiltration System, Nano-filtration System and an Enhanced Membrane System along with all support systems representing a unique opportunity to learn and understand some of the most advanced processes available

 

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for providing technical engineering and project control support on wastewater treatment plant construction project. This role works closely with the Project Manager to implement policies and procedures required for project success. The PE is expected to maintain a good knowledge of the contract specifications, documents and the scope of work, including subcontracts and purchase orders and to assist in development of project status report, submittals, procurement of materials and equipment, development of project work packages.

  • Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foreman and Crews on Project Deliverables.
  • Process/manage material deliveries – ensure that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality and are in compliance with contract documents.
  • Assist in material contracts.
  • Assist in developing and updating the project schedule.
  • Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
  • Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction.
  • High level of involvement in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
  • Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and cost accruals.
  • Process and estimate change orders and requests for information as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Develop engineering submittals for self-perform work scopes
  • Develop work packages for field work coordination and construction activities
  • Follows OHL North America policies and procedures, including safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related experience.
  • Heavy/Civil Construction background with 7+ years experience.
  • Water and Wastewater Treatment experience strongly preferred, water or sanitation agency experience is also highly desirable
  • Above ground mechanical piping or process equipment experience preferred, facilities start up experience a plus.
  • Must be safety oriented – 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong work ethic – willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • Ability to function as a team builder/player.
  • The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
  • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) training a plus.
  • Experience performing construction layouts a plus.
