Overview:

 

Reporting to the Superintendent, the Foreman directs and manages all on-site construction workers, subcontractors and equipment, enforcing the company's direction, policies, and safety standards, while meeting construction deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct people, equipment, and resources in the construction of roads.
  • Ensure sufficient deployment and productivity of the work
  • Engage in open communication with the superintendent and Project Managers and report any issues which could affect the project
  • Use survey equipment to ensure proper placement of work
  • Organize and coordinate the daily activities of all crew members, subcontractors, equipment and utilize corrective action to keep the project on time and
  • Ensure work items are placed to contract plans and
  • Observe workmanship of the work activity to determine potential quality control issues, and apply necessary correction
  • Identify and execute best practices concerning the efficient use of construction
  • Plan work in an efficient and effective order, maximizing progress in a safe and timely manner.
  • Review and adhere to constructions schedules, ensuring milestone and completion dates are
  • Ensure company/rented equipment is lawfully operated, cared for, maintained and used effectively.
  • Read and interpret project plans and
  • Operate heavy equipment and other duties as
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company Code of Ethics
  • Must examine situations in the light of the principles of the Code of Ethics

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Heavy Civil Construction experience
  • Must be safety oriented; OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 Certification preferred
  • Previous TXDOT experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts, and Purchase Orders
  • Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exhibits strong leadership qualities
  • Strong decision making/problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
